Cancelling Christmas

Well, it’s going to be a very back-to-basics holiday season around here. Without going into too much detail, suffice to say that 2009 will bring a change of pace economically for my family.

Check out my latest post at New Jersey Moms Blog for part of the story…

The rest of the story is, well, crappy also. More to come when I’m not stressing out.

  1. Oh honey, I’m so sorry. No one is losing a job over here, but the crunch on the economy has really had to make us tighten down spending A LOT in this single-income by working mom, SAHD, 4+1 kid home. We’re buying each kid the one big thing they said they wanted and the grandparents are handling the rest. Thankfully, no one wanted anything over $50 as their big gift.

  2. Ugh. That royally sucks. I really hope that you don’t REALLY have to ‘cancel Christmas’, though. If it’s that bad, please let me know :o(. I bet there are a lot of non-present things you can do on Christmas.. cookie decorating, movie-a-thons, board games, make homemade pizzas for dinner…

  3. awe! sorry you are feeling so stressed and down! money sucks hard core hey? Well you can still have christmas with no money, just like the who’s in whoville! hugs
