Well, it’s going to be a very back-to-basics holiday season around here. Without going into too much detail, suffice to say that 2009 will bring a change of pace economically for my family.
Check out my latest post at New Jersey Moms Blog for part of the story…
The rest of the story is, well, crappy also. More to come when I’m not stressing out.
I’m so sorry to hear this news.
Oh honey, I’m so sorry. No one is losing a job over here, but the crunch on the economy has really had to make us tighten down spending A LOT in this single-income by working mom, SAHD, 4+1 kid home. We’re buying each kid the one big thing they said they wanted and the grandparents are handling the rest. Thankfully, no one wanted anything over $50 as their big gift.
Ugh. That royally sucks. I really hope that you don’t REALLY have to ‘cancel Christmas’, though. If it’s that bad, please let me know :o(. I bet there are a lot of non-present things you can do on Christmas.. cookie decorating, movie-a-thons, board games, make homemade pizzas for dinner…
Ugh…I am so sorry to hear this. Big hugs.
So sorry, there’s never a good time for something like that, but this time of year is particularly crappy.Hugs to you.
Boy do I hear that! It’s one thing to have to cut back…it’s another to worry about making your mortgage or car payment. I hope you are not in that situation.
awe! sorry you are feeling so stressed and down! money sucks hard core hey? Well you can still have christmas with no money, just like the who’s in whoville! hugs
